Sunita Williams of Indian origin had made a new record of space walk recently. When would India be able to send its own astronaut on such kind of missions?

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is at present working on an unmanned space mission with a payload to land on the Moon, which will go next year. Recently we have successfully tested re-entry technology, which is the first step to a manned mission. I am sure in the near future we will be putting a man into space on our own.
