The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil, was Chief Guest at the 40th Anniversary Celebrations of the Delhi Public School (DPS) R.K. Puram, New Delhi in the capital on April 18, 2012. The celebrations were attended by many prominent personalities, alumni, parents and students of the school. The Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission, Dr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia and the Union Minister of Law and Justice, Shri Salman Khursheed, both of whom are alumni also attended. A poem written by a student of a senior class of the school, giving expression to the issue of the girl child, was given to the President.
