The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil met Officer Trainees of the 65th Batch of the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on March 14, 2012. Speaking to the Officers, the President said they should be prepared to face challenges at various stages of their careers. It would be important therefore for them to assess demands on their careers and how they prepared themselves. The President also mentioned that financial flows now move across borders and are very complex, speedy and dynamic, and therefore it would be necessary for the Officers to understand international law very well and to upgrade their skills from time to time.
