Many eminent Indian sculptors were commissioned by different Presidents to sculpt their busts. K.S. Radhakrishnan provides a rough texture to busts of Dr. Abdul Kalam and Shri K.R. Narayanan. The busts of Shri R. Venkataraman and Dr. Zakir Hussain executed by M.R.D. Dattan and V.V. Wagh respectively have a smooth surface. A smiling representation of Shri Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed by Nana Wagh provides naturalistic appeal to the rough medium of bronze while a serious expression prevails on the bronze bust of Shri Rajendra Prasad sculpted by B.V. Wagh. Ram V. Sutar shows artistic finesse in lifelike busts of Shri V.V. Giri and Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma. Neelam Sanjiva Reddy’s bust executed by Shri Kuldeep Bhalla has a smooth textured finish with broad shoulders and serene expression. The bust of Giani Zail Singh by Biman Das is soft and serene.
