The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil in her message on the occasion of International Women's Day, which is observed every year on March 8, has said: -
"Every year, we celebrate International Women's Day on 8th March, to recognize the dedication and achievements of women. This year is even more special, as this is the 100th year of its observation. Indian women as part of this epoch making movement have played an exemplary role and will continue to be a major determinant of our future progress and inclusive growth.
On this occasion, I have great pleasure in extending my greetings and best wishes to the women of India for their continued success".
