President to Visit Arunachal Pradesh and Assam From April 1st to 4th

The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil shall be undertaking her first visit to Arunachal Pradesh since she assumed office. During her visit to Arunachal Pradesh from April 1st to 3rd, the President will attend the Silver Jubilee Function and Convocation of the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) in Itanagar. The foundation stone of the Institute was laid by the then President Giani Zail Singh in 1984. The President shall also visit Tawang, during which she will go to the Monastery there as also the War Memorial. Wrapping her visit to the State, Smt. Patil will visit troops at Kibithu and address a Sainik Sammelan.

The President shall attend the closing session of the Diamond Jubilee of the Gauhati High Court at Guwahati on April 4th before returning to New Delhi.
