President of India Urges Youth to Place Others Before Self

The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil has urged the youth of the nation to work for national progress and always think of others before themselves. Speaking to the winners of the Tata Building India Essay Competition at Rashtrapati Bhavan today, she said the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi always believed in placing others before oneself.

Smt. Patil also said India is endowed with talented people who have excelled in various fields. She said we are also a country with much diversity. She asked the winners to work for the prosperity of the nation and said education and knowledge must be spread for the benefit of all.
