President Of India Presents Various National Awards On The Occasion Of Children's Days

The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil presented various national awards in the Ashoka Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan today on the occasion of Children's Day.

The President presented the National Child Awards for Exceptional Achievement for the Year 2010, the National Awards for Child Welfare for the Year 2009 and the Rajiv Gandhi Manav Seva Awards for the Year 2009.

The National Child Awards were presented to 25 children in the age group of 4 to 15 years from various States of the country. The National Awards for Child Welfare were presented to 5 Institutions and 3 individuals, while the Rajiv Gandhi Manav Seva Awards were presented to 3 individuals.

The Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Women and Child Development, Smt. Krishna Tirath and about 250 children from various schools and youth organizations from various parts of the country were also present on the occasion.
