President of India Congratulates Venkatraman Ramakrishnan for Jointly Winning This Year's Nobel Prize for Chemistry

The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil has congratulated Professor Venkatraman Ramakrishnan for jointly winning the Nobel Prize for Chemistry for the year 2009.
The President has said, she is very proud to hear of the news and is happy that Professor Ramakrishnan's pursuit of understanding the structure and function of the ribosome has been recognized. The President has further said that she hopes that the work will one day help in bringing better cure for those who suffer from incurable bacterial infections.
