President of India Condoles Passing Away of Sri Sathya Sai Baba

The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil has condoled the passing away of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. In a condolence message from Mauritius, where she arrived today on a State Visit, the President has said, " Sri Sathya Sai Baba was known for his philanthropic and developmental activities, including irrigations projects, construction of schools and hospitals. He was the true advocate of women's empowerment. His commitment to their upliftment was evident when he opened a college for women and other educational institutions. The divine soul shall always guide and inspire us to work for the progress of the country and the welfare of the poorest sections of society and women."
