President of India Condoles Passing Away of Gangubai Hangal

The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil has condoled the passing away of the very well known Hindustani classical music exponent, Smt. Gangubai Hangal.

In her condolence message, the President has said, "Smt. Gangubai Hangal was one of the most acclaimed exponents of Khyal Gayki of the Kirana Gharana and a doyen of Hindustani classical music. In her passing away, the nation has lost an accomplished and popular classical vocalist."
