President of India Condoles Passing Away of Brigadier Sawai Bhawani Singh

The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil has condoled the passing away of Brigadier Sawai Bhawani Singh.

In her condolence message to his wife, Padmini Devi, the President has said, "Brigadier Bhawani Singh served the Indian Army, and received numerous honours, including the second highest gallantry award, the Mahavir Chakra. He also served as the Adjutant of the prestigious President's Bodyguard from the mid 1950's to the early 1960's. He was also known for his interest in the arts and their preservation. The nation shall always remember his distinguished services as an Army Officer and a diplomat. In his passing away, we have lost a distinguished personality."
