President Of India Condoles Death Of President Of Poland And His Wife In A Plane Crash

The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil has condoled the death of the President of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Lech Kaczynski and his wife Mrs. Maria Kaczynska, who were killed in a plane crash earlier today.

In her condolence message to the Marshal (Speaker) of the Sejm (Upper House) of the Polish Parliament, Mr. Bronislaw Komorowski, and the President has said, "I am deeply shocked and saddened by the news of the death of President Lech Kaczynski, Madam Maria Kaczynska and others in a plane crash today. I warmly recall my meeting with President Kaczynski during my visit to Poland in April 2009. President Kaczynski was a true friend of India and was personally committed to strengthening bilateral relations between our two countries. At this sad moment, India shares Poland's grief."
