President Congratulates Shri P. Sainath on Conferment of Ramon Magsaysay Award 2007

The President Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil has congratulated Shri P. Sainath, journalist on being awarded the prestigious Ramon Magsaysay Award 2007.

In a message to Shri Sainath, the President has said, "Please accept my heartiest congratulations on your being awarded the prestigious Ramon Magsaysay Award 2007 in 'Journalism, Literature and Creative Communication Arts'. The Award becomes more important as it has been given in recognition of your work in the field of rural reporting and to highlight the problems of poverty and illiteracy. Your writings on water, food, hunger and other matters of societal interests are well known".
