President Condoles Passing Away Of Former First Lady, Smt. Usha Narayanan

The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil has condoled the passing away of the former First Lady, Smt. Usha Narayanan in New Delhi today.

In a condolence message, she has said Smt. Narayanan was known for her active participation in the welfare and upliftment of women and children, especially from the weaker sections of society. The President also recalled, Smt. Narayanan's keen interest in gardening, which was reflected in the Mughal Gardens of Rashtrapati Bhavan when she was the First Lady.
