President Condoles the Death of Qurrat-ul-ain Hyder

The President, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil, has condoled the passing away of Ms Qurrat-ul-ain Hyder. In a condolence message to the niece of Ms Qurrat-ul-ain Hyder, the President has said, "I am saddened to learn about the passing away of Ms Qurrat-ul-ain Hyder. Ms Qurrat-ul-ain Hyder was a renowned Urdu writer, an academic and a journalist. In recognition of her writings, she was conferred 'Jnanpith Award' and 'Padma Bhushan'. She will always be remembered for her short stories and novels. In her death, the country has lost a multifaceted personality and a prolific writer.
