President Appoints Governors of Bihar, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh

The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil has condoled the passing away of the Governor of Assam, Shiv Charan Mathur.

In a condolence message, to Smt. Sushila Mathur, the wife of the deceased Governor, the President has said Shri Mathur was closely associated with developmental activities at various levels in Rajasthan during his long public career. He was always concerned about the welfare of the people in rural areas. In his passing away the nation has lost a personality who was always in touch with the grassroots of society.
