Envoys of Three Nations Present Credentials to President of India

Three envoys presented their credentials to the President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil at a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The envoys who presented their credentials were: - His Excellency Mr. Timothy J. Roemer, the Ambassador of the United States of America, His Excellency Mr. Krit Kraichitti, the Ambassador of Thailand, and His Excellency Mr. Ahmad Tariq Karim, the High Commissioner of Bangladesh.

In her interaction with the envoys, the President said terrorism constitutes a grave threat to world peace, prosperity and stability and the international community needs to act swiftly and collectively to defeat it. The President also said India is focusing on strengthening its infrastructure as well as social sector to bring about equitable development. The President added that India seeks friendly relations with all countries and to build cooperation in diverse sectors, including in education. The President queried about steps being taken in the three countries to tackle the H1N1 influenza.

The credential presentation ceremony was attended by the senior members of the missions, senior officials of the Ministry of External Affairs and Rashtrapati Bhavan.
