Envoys Of Seven Nations Present Credentials To President Of India

Seven envoys presented their credentials to the President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil at a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan today.
The envoys who presented their credentials were: - His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Elies Ben Marzouk, the Ambassador of Tunisia, His Excellency Archbishop Salvatore Pennacchio, the Ambassador of Apostolic Nunciature (Holy See), His Excellency Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tan, the Ambassador of Vietnam, His Excellency Mr. Ousmane Tandia, the Ambassador of Mali, His Excellency Mr. Cristian Barros Melet, the Ambassador of Chile, His Excellency Dr. Sead Avdic, the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina and His Excellency Mr. Amadou Moustapha Diouf, the Ambassador of Senegal.
Welcoming the envoys the President said India seeks to intensify its relations with all countries, in areas where there is scope for mutual co-operation, opportunities exist for trade and investment and for building people-to-people contacts to promote greater understanding. The President also said that India's economy is growing and the Government is committed to reaching the benefits of growth to all sections of society. India is also committed to sharing its experiences with the world as it deals with global challenges such as food security and climate change, she added.
The credential presentation ceremony was attended by the senior members of the missions, senior officials of the Ministry of External Affairs and Rashtrapati Bhavan.
