Envoys Of Five Nations Present Credentials To President Of India

Five envoys presented their credentials to the President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil at a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The envoys who presented their credentials were: - His Excellency Mr. Mohammed Hacene Echarif, the Ambassador of Algeria, His Excellency Mr. Rubuka Aloys, the Ambassador of Burundi, His Excellency Mr. Zurab Katchkatchishvili, the Ambassador of Georgia, His Excellency Mr. Petras Simeliunas, the Ambassador of Lithuania, and His Excellency Mr. Harris Mbulelo Sithembile Majeke, the High Commissioner of South Africa.
In her interaction with the envoys, the President said that global economic recovery was underway. With world trade expected to grow by 9.5 percent this year, this was an opportunity for countries to re-invigorate their economic links. The President also emphasized the importance of focus being on achieving the Millennium Development Goals and stepping-up the fight against poverty and hunger. She referred to India's efforts to achieve its national objectives of inclusive growth, health for all and the Right to Education.
The credential presentation ceremony was attended by the senior members of the missions, senior officials of the Ministry of External Affairs and Rashtrapati Bhavan.
