Appointment and Transfer of Governors

The President has been pleased to make the following appointments: -

1. Shri Rameshwar Thakur, Governor of Orissa transferred and appointed as Governor of Karnataka for the ramainder of his term vice Shri T.N. Chaturvedi on expiry of his term of office on 20.8.2007.

2. Shri Murlidhar Chandrakant Bhandare as Governor of Orissa vice Shri Rameshwar Thakur.

3. Shri N.D. Tiwari as Governor of Andhra Pradesh vice Shri Rameshwar Thakur.

4. Shri Shilendra Kumar Singh, Governor of Arunanchal Pradesh transferred and appointed as Governor of Rajasthan for the remainder of his term vice Dr. A.R. Kidwai.

5. Shri K. Sankaranarayanan, Governor of Nagaland to discharge the functions of the Governor of Arunanchal Pradesh, in addition to his own duties.

6. Shri Sudarshan Agarwal, Governor of Uttarakhand shall stand transferred and appointed as Governor of Sikkim for the remainder of his term vice Shri V. Rama Rao on expiry of his term of office on 24.10.2007 and

Shri B.L. Joshi, Governor of Meghalaya shall stand transferred and appointed as Governor of Uttrakhand vice Shri Sudarshan Agarwal.
