President of India Condoles the Passing Away of Rameshwar Thakur

The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee has condoled the passing away of Shri Rameshwar Thakur.

In a condolence message to his son, Shri Sushil Thakur, the President has said, "I am deeply saddened to learn about the passing away of Shri Rameshwar Thakur.

Shri Rameshwar Thakur was a veteran Congress leader and able administrator who contributed to the nation’s growth and welfare. He served the nation with distinction as a member of the Union Council of Ministers and Governor of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh. The nation will always remember him for his valuable services and pursuit of excellence in public life.

In his death, I have lost a close friend whose memories I shall forever cherish.

I pray to the Almighty to give your family and you the strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss. Please accept my heartfelt condolences and convey the same to all other members of your family”.
