President of India Condoles the Passing Away of Dr. Syed Ahmed

The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee has condoled the passing away ofDr. Syed Ahmed, Governor of Manipur.

In acondolencemessage tohis wife,Smt. Syed Hasan Tara, the President has said, "I am sad to learn about the passing away of Dr. Syed Ahmed.

Dr. Syed Ahmed served the nation with distinction in different capacities during his public life. He was Member of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly for five terms and Minister in the State Government. His services to the nation as the Governor of Jharkhand and Manipur will be always remembered. Dr. Ahmed was also known for his varied interests and rich contribution towards literature.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences and convey the same to the rest of your family members. I pray to the Almighty to give you and other members of the family strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss”.
