IAS Probationers Call on the President

A group of IAS probationers including officer trainees from the Royal Bhutan Civil Services attending the IAS Professional Course Phase –I for the 2015 Batch called on the President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan today (February 24, 2016).

On the occasion, the President welcomed the young officers to RashtrapatiBhavan. He said that they had all come from diverse backgrounds but this diversity had converged into one stream, that of a very distinguished public service. He stated that in our country we not only celebrate diversity, but we cherish diversity. He urged the probationers to be the change which they aspire to see in society. He advised them to always remember that they represent the face of the Government. He said that the motto of their Academy was ‘sheelam parambhushanam’and therefore their best ornament should be their conduct and behavior towards the public. He said thattheir attitude and approach towards their job was important as it would not only affect their own careers but also the future of the nation. In this regard, if they felt that they were making a contribution in building the nation, they would get immense satisfaction.

The probationers are in Delhi to attend the training at 'Bureau of Parliamentary Studies and Training' from February 22 to 26, 2016.
